Q: Can I return them if I change my mind?

Yes. 30 days from the day they arrive, no reason needed. But you do pay for the return shipping, unless they arrived defective or we sent the wrong thing. In that case, we cover it.

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GOOD SHADES online store at goodshades.com, including all related products and services (the “Services”). The Services are operated by eSCALERS AB, organisationsnummer 559509-0225, registered in Sweden (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing or using the Services, or by placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Products and Orders

2.1 Product information

We make every effort to display our products as accurately as possible, including colours, materials, and dimensions. However, the actual appearance of products may vary slightly depending on your device and screen settings.

All products are subject to availability. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time without notice.

2.2 Placing an order

When you place an order through the Services, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products. We will send you an order confirmation by email, which constitutes our acceptance of your order and the formation of a binding contract.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including but not limited to product availability, errors in pricing or product information, or suspected fraudulent activity. If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will issue a full refund.

2.3 Pricing

All prices displayed on the Services for customers in Sweden and the European Union are inclusive of applicable VAT (moms). The Swedish VAT rate is 25%.

For customers outside the EU, prices are displayed excluding local taxes and duties. You are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or other charges imposed by your country of delivery (see Section 5).

Prices are quoted in SEK (Swedish Krona) as the default currency. Prices may also be displayed in DKK, EUR, or other currencies depending on your market. Currency conversion rates are approximate and the amount charged may vary depending on your payment provider.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time without notice. The price applicable to your order is the price shown at the time you place your order.

4. Social Commitment

For every pair of GOOD SHADES sold, we set aside USD 2.50, equivalent to the cost of producing one pair of reading glasses, intended to support access to vision care for people in need. This commitment is voluntary on the part of eSCALERS AB (org. nr 559509-0225) and does not form part of the contractual agreement between you and us. GOOD SHADES reserves the right to modify, replace or discontinue this initiative, including the donated amount, at any time without prior notice.

5. Payment

We accept the following payment methods:

• Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Shopify Payments

• Klarna (Pay Later, Pay in 3 instalments)

• Apple Pay and Google Pay

• Shop Pay

Payment is processed at the time of purchase. All transactions are handled securely by our payment processors (Shopify Payments/Stripe and Klarna). We do not store your payment card details.

6. Shipping and Delivery

We ship to Sweden, Denmark, the European Union, and selected international destinations. For full details on shipping zones, delivery times, and rates, please refer to our Shipping Policy.

Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by the carrier, customs processing, or events beyond our reasonable control.

Risk of loss and title for items pass to you upon delivery of the items to the carrier.

7. Customs, Duties and Taxes for International Orders

For orders shipped outside the European Union, the customer is solely responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, and any other charges imposed by the destination country.

These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost shown at checkout. They are determined and collected by your local customs authority upon delivery.

GOOD SHADES has no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. We recommend contacting your local customs office for more information before placing an order.

Orders cannot be refused or returned solely due to unexpected customs or duty charges.

8. Returns and Refunds

GOOD SHADES offers a 30-day return period from the date of delivery, which exceeds the 14-day statutory withdrawal right under EU consumer protection law. Return shipping is at your own cost. For full details, please refer to our Return and Refund Policy

9. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable law, including:

• Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen, 2022:260): You have the right to claim against defects that appear within three years of purchase.

• EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU): You have the right to withdraw from distance contracts within 14 days.

• Danish Consumer Contracts Act (forbrugeraftaleloven): Equivalent withdrawal rights apply for customers in Denmark.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and mandatory consumer protection law, the consumer protection law prevails.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Services, including but not limited to text, images, logos, product designs, graphics, and software, is the property of eSCALERS AB or its licensors and is protected by Swedish and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The GOOD SHADES name, logo, and brand identity are trademarks of eSCALERS AB. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Services without our prior written consent.

11. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services, other accounts, or computer systems.

• Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers connected to the Services.

• Use the Services to transmit any harmful code, spam, or unsolicited communications.

• Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of the Services without express written permission.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, eSCALERS AB shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Services.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

14.1 Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply where required.

14.2 Dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at hello@goodshades.com and we will attempt to resolve it.

If we cannot resolve the dispute, you may refer the matter to:

• Sweden: Allmänna Reklamationsnämnden (ARN) www.arn.se. ARN reviews consumer disputes free of charge. Limitations on claim amounts may apply.

• Denmark: Center for Klageresolution / Forbrugerklagenævnet www.naevneneshus.dk

• EU: The European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu/index_en

You also have the right to bring proceedings before the competent courts in your country of residence.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Return and Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and eSCALERS AB regarding your use of the Services.

How much is shipping?

Free to Sweden and Denmark.

EU and international rates show at checkout before you commit to anything.

Can I return them if I change my mind?

Are the lenses UV-protective?

Every pair blocks 100% of UVA and UVB. Filter Category 3, CE-certified, and tested to American, European and Australian standards.

Reds still look red, greens still look green.

What does the 3-year lens guarantee cover?

Manufacturing defects in the lens itself: peeling coatings, cracks, anything that shouldn’t have happened.

If something goes wrong with the lens before the second summer, send a couple of photos to hello@goodshades.com and we’ll sort it.

It doesn’t cover scratches from sitting at the bottom of a beach bag, but you knew that.
